Guided forest bathing walks

find your grounded presence

Get a sense of what to expect on a forest bathing walk.

We are wired for connection. But in the rush of daily life, it's easy to feel disconnected from our own bodies and the natural world around us. Forest bathing, also known as Forest Therapy or shinrin-yoku, is the simple, profound practice of remembering this connection. It’s not about hiking or getting a workout—it’s about slowing down and intentionally communing with the forest atmosphere.

As a certified guide, I will lead you on a gentle, mindful walk, offering a series of invitations to awaken your senses and develop an immediate, grounded relationship with the land and yourself. It’s a quiet invitation to listen, to feel, and to simply be present.

While this practice is backed by decades of scientific research, the most powerful benefits are often experienced at a deeper, personal level. Forest bathing is an essential rooted practice for cultivating well-being by strengthening your bond with the natural world and your own internal stability.

Benefits of a Guided Walk

  • Grounded Presence: Strengthen your capacity to anchor your body in the present moment, finding a sense of profound calm and immediate stress reduction.

  • Mental Clarity: Enhance creativity and focus by listening to the innate wisdom of the forest and clearing mental congestion

  • Deeper Rest: Improve your sleep and find sustained energy through a gentle, intuitive reconnection with nature's rhythm.

  • Internal Authority: Discover that the forest can act as a guide and teacher, supporting emotional healing and strengthening the self-trust needed to navigate life’s continuous change.

Each walk concludes with a quiet service of non-caffeinated herbal tea, allowing you to peacefully integrate your experience.

FAQs

  • As a growing global wellness movement, forest therapy is backed by nearly 40 years of scientific research on the holistic benefits of immersing yourself in nature. These benefits include reduced stress and blood pressure, increased creativity and focus, improved mood and sleep, and a boost to immune functions.

Nature can also serve as a healer, teacher, and guide for handling life challenges, seeking answers to difficult questions, and finding support and grounding or presence.

  • A guided forest bathing is a leisurely walk on a path or trail with stops along the way where we will gather. Through a series of carefully crafted invitations, we will use our senses to develop an immediate connection to the natural world and the land. This is a slow, mindful way of walking and connecting with nature. Our walk will conclude with a service of non caffeinated herbal tea. Walks typically last 1.5 — 2 hours, but can be longer in duration.

  • I ask that you come with a sense of wonder and curiosity. Please dress comfortably and for the weather, including a hat, jacket, layers, umbrella, and proper shoes.

You may also want to bring the following:

    Water bottle

A walking stick or trekking pole

A small blanket to sit or lie down on

A few small, folding stools are available by request

  • The walk will still be on if it’s raining or snowing lightly, unless it’s unsafe weather---thunderstorms, high winds, torrential downpours or the like. If it’s raining, or the forecast predicts rain, it’s important to have a waterproof shell so please bring a rain jacket, and if you have them, rain pants. Rain and snow often enhances the sensory experience and makes for some of our most memorable walks. If unsafe weather is in the forecast, the walk will be rescheduled.

“Naomi has a strength and presence that mirrors nature. With well-paced invitations, she guided me through a private forest bathing walk where my senses were activated and a deep calm settled in. The experience has stayed with me throughout the seasons, and I look forward to another guided session soon.”
